You may (or may not) notice that there’s now a calendar on the left side of all of the blog pages. Go ahead… use it! It works like most blog calendars work. (At least I assume so; I admit that I spend more time looking at my own blog than at all other blogs combined.) I’ve also added a few new “34” photos in the top area. Refresh the page 1,000 times and maybe you’ll see a new one.

Yet another other other other redesign
OK, that ’50s-ish design was shortlived; I know I’m no Reid Miles. Anyway, I was inspired to start collecting photographs of “34” found in the “wild,” and when I had the opportunity, I had to go for it. So now we have this newest look.
I think this one might stick. We’ll see…
Addendum (September 7, 2006): I finally took a minute to check this out in Internet Explorer and, surprise surprise, it’s hosed. Not totally hosed though, hoser. Man, I hate IE.
Yet another redesign
Yes, it’s another in the long, unending series of new site redesigns. Now I’m going for a retro ’50s look, somewhat reminiscent of the Blue Note album covers of the late ’50s and early ’60s by graphic artist Reid Miles.
The layout still needs some tweaks… a few visual elements are a little wonky and/or bland, some images with transparent backgrounds need to be re-matted, a few stylesheet elements are still set up for the old layout, and a few pages aren’t filling the window like they should (still don’t know what that’s all about).
Anyway, a new look. Enjoy. Or not.
New items in the Room 34 Store!
As usual I’m sure these will be of no interest to anyone besides me and the two and a half people who read this (and only marginally interesting to them), but why not take the opportunity for a shameless plug?
I’ve added a couple of new items to the Room 34 Store, including a Tai Chi & Chai Tea coffee mug and a Rosie the Riveter infant “creeper” (known to those of us not afraid to commonize brand names as a “Onesie”). Be like me! Deck out your infant in 60-year-old war propaganda!
Clear your cache!
Just a friendly reminder to clear your cache… or at least force a refresh. I’ve recently changed a few elements of the design of my site, including the background image. So if you’re still seeing the orange band on the left side (and, now, repeated behind the body of the page), please refresh!
You should be seeing a tiled background of isometric cubes (think Q*Bert), and various font styles have also been updated.
Not that you care. But if I wanted the orange band to still be there, I’d have left it!
